responses MAY BE caused by mesothelioma, or by other less grave

Pleural Effusion
A pleural effusion is an accrual of fluid between the lining
of the lung and the chest crater. It is one of most frequent
symptoms of mesothelioma and straight leads to shortness of
breath. Dyspnea increases in relation to the volume of this
fluid, as does the pain associated with the effusion.
Dyspnea
Dyspnea can be caused by a pleural effusion and/or by the presence
of a tumor(s) in the pleura. As both situation restrict the
proper functioning of the lungs, shortness of gulp of air is
a standard symptom of mesothelioma.
Chest / Back Pain
A buildup of solution in the pleural lining of the lungs can
create a 60% of the time. Only 5% of patients have mesothelioma
in both lungs.
Chronic Hoarseness / Difficulty Swallowing / Coughing
up Blood
Chronic hoarseness, difficulty swallowing and/or the coughing
up of blood are also symptoms of mesothelioma, but are calculated
more rare than the symptoms noted above as these reveal in less
than 1% of undiagnosed mesothelioma victims.
Swelling of the Face and Arms
The swelling of the face or neck areas can point to a spreading
of the cancer beyond the mesothelium.
Other Symptoms
Other reported symptoms include fever, muscle weakness, sensory
loss, and nausea.
Mesothelioma symptoms are not detailed to the disease, that
is, many of the mesothelioma symptoms are the same for other
medical problems. Also, most studies show that mesothelioma
can occur as much as 30 to 40 years after contact to asbestos.
In reality, only a short time period of asbestos contact, as
little as a few months, can create the conditions for a sickness
that erupts much later in life.
Mesothelioma affects the lining of a range of cavities in
the body. Over time, the growth of the cancerous tumors causes
these tissues to get bigger and gather fluid. The symptoms
of the sickness will also depend on the place of the tumors.
Pleural Mesothelioma Symptoms
For pleural mesothelioma, which is in the facing
surrounding the lung, shortness of gulp of air, chest pain
and a persistent cough are common symptoms. The most general
presenting symptom is contained chest pain, but this may not
occur until the sickness is well advanced. Coughing and weight
loss are not unusual. Some patients show nearly no symptoms.
Peritoneal Mesothelioma Symptoms
Peritoneal mesothelioma is a cancer of the abdomen
lining. Symptoms include inflammation or a mass in the abdomen,
weight loss and abdominal pain. Also, bowel impediment and
blood clots have been known to occur. Fever is now and then
present.
Pericardial Mesothelioma Symptoms
The facing of the heart is called the pericardium.
Pericardial mesothelioma affects this heart lining, causing
fluid to gather. Symptoms contain chest pain, cough, unequal
heart beating and uneven breathing patterns. This type of
mesothelioma is the most rare.
With any cancer, the earlier the disease can be detected,
the better the prognosis for a treatment that halts the progression.
Bowel Obstruction
A cancer in the peritoneum membranes can exert increasing
heaviness on the organs in the abdomen, leading to bowel obstruction
and distention.
Weight Loss / Anemia
Abdominal pain, bowel obstruction, and the weight
exerted by the being there of a tumor can lead to a loss of
appetite, nausea, weight loss, anemia, and other wasting symptoms.
Other Symptoms
The attendance of tumors in the peritoneal tissues
of the front can also cause a frequency in urination, night
sweats, fever, and loss of muscle tissue.
The varied and non-specific symptoms associated with mesothelioma
can stoppage detection and diagnosis. Make sure that your
physician is aware of any known asbestos exposures and of
any other professional risk factors.
